What are some of the tax-advantaged options for people without a 401(k)?

Freelancers and independent contractors have some of the same retirement plan options as small-business owners including the IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and self-employed 401(k). As long as you have some earnings, you have some tax-advantaged saving options.
